Venture capital can get stuffy and corporate. Worklife is throwing open the windows. The firm invests in tools that power flexible, joyful, and creative work. They called us in to push content that’s as innovative as they are.
Worklife Ventures began as a marketing exec’s weekend angel investing hobby. Since then, the firm has invested in 9 unicorns and backed more nonbinary, genderqueer, and people in same-sex relationships than any other firm. Worklife Ventures is the first venture capital firm designed for the new era of builders, creators, and individual contributors. We partnered with Worklife to build its content distribution engine and grow its online web presence. Over the course of 4 months, we’ve grown search from 0 to 3K hits per month, published pieces on founders and future of work trends ranking #1 in Google, and redesigned and restructured pages to better align with Worklife’s cutting-edge brand identity and SEO.

When Brianne first came to us, she knew exactly what she wanted — to turn her content, podcasts, and interviews with founders and operators into something that people actually want to read. The truth is that venture capital content is often too technical and difficult to digest. Our challenge was to highlight surprising stories, show trends early, and use language anyone can understand, all while ensuring the content would rank well on search engines, free from buzzwords and corporate jargon.
The main challenge with search? The keywords were competitive (e.g., AI, future of work) or highly covered by high DR domains (e.g., creators, founders).

When Worklife came to us, they had a ton of editorial-quality startup and founder stories on their site. But the readership wasn’t there. We partnered with them to make their search results work as hard as their founders. Over the course of four months, we optimized blog content and increased Worklife’s site traffic from 0 to 3k monthly visitors.
Worklife Ventures is just as interested in writing about the founders building diverse, difference-celebrating teams as they are about funding them. We worked with the team to bring even more impressive stories to their site because soon enough they will be known and searched by the world. Some highlights:
In-person communities are strengthening alongside digital communities; remote work frees up time to meet neighbors, frequent local businesses, and spend time with friends. Worklife decided to go all in on this trend and opened an IRL space in LA for exclusive events and pop-ups.
We worked with the firm to get the word out about their new space through local SEO; from setting up Google My Business, Yelp, and Instagram location to designing a landing page optimized with keywords.

We’ve been working with Slam for months now and they have been nothing short of amazing. They are absolute rockstars — super responsive, transparent, upfront, and fast. Their team is beyond talented and they have helped us build a better website that is already ranking for trends we’re spotting, brands we’re highlighting, and stories we’re amplifying. Thank you Slam!
WorkLife VC is a venture capital fund investing in the future of work — backing companies building technologies and services that improve how people work, learn, and develop professionally. The future of work is a competitive investment thesis requiring clear differentiation to attract the best founders and LP capital.
Slam Media Lab (slammedialab.com) provided brand identity and web design to WorkLife VC — helping the fund communicate its thesis, portfolio, and team value- add to founders and limited partners through a polished digital presence.
Investment thesis specificity (what exactly is the fund backing?), portfolio companies with brief descriptions of their market opportunity, team backgrounds and relevant operator or investor experience, and a clear path for founders to learn more or submit for consideration. Social proof from portfolio founders is especially powerful.
Thought leadership content (posts on future-of-work trends, investment theses, lessons from portfolio companies) builds reputation and inbound deal flow. Publishing regularly on LinkedIn, Substack, or a firm blog keeps the fund top-of- mind with founders and co-investors who might refer the best deals.
Yes. Slam Media Lab (slammedialab.com) has built brands and websites for venture capital and investment firms — creating the digital presence and content strategy that attracts founders, LPs, and co-investors to emerging and established funds. +++
